Why Trysil

The resort that never feels full.

Trysilfjellet is one mountain with four ski-in villages around it, so lift queues spread out and the runs stay wide. Beginners get Norway's best green terrain; the rest of you get 685 metres of groomed vertical and tree skiing when it dumps.

Ski-in/ski-out for real

Turistsenteret, Høyfjellssenteret, Fageråsen, Skihytta – all four have lifts at the door. We tag every stay with the metres.

Made for families

Ski school in six languages, a kids' area at every base, and pistes so wide the five-year-old stays in sight.

Après without the price tag

Bars at the base, restaurants in the village, and a supermarket for the apartment nights. Norway, but sensibly.

Freshly groomed cross-country tracks below Trysilfjellet on an April morning
Trysilfjellet, late April. The tracks were set before eight, and nobody had skied them yet.

Where to stay

Apartments at the lift, cabins in the woods, hotels in the middle.

Trysil is apartment country. Most stays sleep four to eight, with a proper kitchen, drying room and ski storage – priced per week, not per person.
