Getting to Trysil

Norway's largest ski resort, and the one with its own airport 40 minutes away. Fly to Scandinavian Mountains on a Saturday, or to Oslo any day of the week.

Book your flight. We do the rest. We are here, on the mountain — transfer, keys, lift pass and the answer to whatever comes up at four o'clock on a Saturday afternoon.

The seasonal airport

Scandinavian Mountains sits between Sälen and Trysil and opens only for the ski season. It is the shortest transfer in Scandinavia — and a small airport with two British departures a week. Oslo Gardermoen carries many times the capacity, from across Europe, every day of the year.

Operator From Day Season
easyJet London Gatwick Saturdays 12 Dec 2026 – 13 Mar 2027
easyJet Manchester Saturdays 19 Dec 2026 – 13 Mar 2027
Crystal Ski London Gatwick Sundays 20 Dec 2026 – 11 Apr 2027
Ski Scandinavia London Gatwick Sundays, selected 14 Feb – 4 Apr 2027
SAS London Heathrow Sundays, 2 dates 14 and 21 Feb 2027

easyJet sells the seat only — which is where we come in. Crystal Ski and Ski Scandinavia sell a package.

Get a price for the last leg

Tell us when your flight lands and we will send you straight to the people who sell it, with your time already filled in. We do not resell transport — you book it where it is cheapest, and we make sure you are looking at the right departure.

Aim to land by 13:00. The express bus from Oslo Airport takes about 3 h 20 min. Land at 13:00 and you are in Trysil around 17:00, which is when the keys are ready. Land at 17:00 and you arrive in the dark, after the shops have shut.

Morning departures out of Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh all land in Oslo before lunch. An evening flight saves nothing once you have paid for the taxi at the far end.

Norwegian train tickets go on sale about three months ahead. Book earlier than that and the journey planner will show the connection but not the fare.

Airport transfer

Sälen Buss runs shared and private transfers from Scandinavian Mountains to Trysil. Stops at Turistsenteret, Radisson Blu Resort, Trysil Skysstasjon, Radisson Blu Mountain Resort and Høyfjellssenteret. Pre-booking is required — the airport has limited taxis and no public transport.

Trysil Buss also runs airport transfers from Scandinavian Mountains. Advance booking required.

Not sure which to take?

Send us your flight and we will tell you what we would do ourselves — including when the answer is the train and not a car. We book the accommodation; the transport you book direct, and you keep the difference.

Parking

A mix of free and paid. P6 at SkiStar Lodge is free; P7 and P6 short-term give one free hour, then NOK 25 per hour. The P-HUS garage is NOK 30 per started hour. EV charging at the high mountain centre, SkiStar Lodge, the Tourist Centre and Radisson Blu — around 60 points in total, mostly 22 kW.

Getting around once you are here

The SkiStar Bus is free with a valid lift pass — the pass is your ticket. It runs between the lodgings, the ski areas and the town centre.

The best weeks are the last ones

March and the first half of April are the finest skiing of the year up here. The days are long, the sun is on the slopes instead of behind the trees, the snow base is at its deepest after a full winter of cold, and the queues from February half-term have gone home.

It is also when the ski charters stop. The seasonal flights into Scandinavian Mountains end on 13 March. Oslo Gardermoen runs all year, from every major European city — so the best weeks of the season are reached the same way you would reach Oslo on any other weekend.

Build the trip you want

Trysil sits on its own, two and a half hours east of the Lillehammer resorts and an hour from Sälen across the Swedish border.

Sälen
over the border, Swedish skiing on the same trip
Oslo
160 km — two nights in the city on the way in or out

A charter sells you one resort, one week, one flight home. Flying into a real airport means you can split the week, add two nights in a city, or ski two mountains and let us move you between them. Tell us what you want the week to look like and we will put it together.

Arrival days

Saturday and Sunday are the changeover days. Several properties also take Friday arrivals.
